Powerbucks links progressive pools between participating jurisdictions with jackpots starting at $1 million, according to a joint release from the Deadwood Gaming Association and the Deadwood Chamber.

The machines now found in Deadwood are linked with Caesars Entertainment and Boyd Gaming properties in New Jersey.

Both companies have agreed to add their Nevada-based properties to the Powerbucks link, upon receipt of regulatory approvals, the release stated. Global gaming powerhouse IGT pioneered this industry-first wide-area progressive game.

“Deadwood is absolutely thrilled to be on the cutting edge of this new technology,” said Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association. “To be able to bring this new gaming experience to our customers first in the country, giving them before unimaginable jackpots at any bet level is an exciting opportunity for our industry.”

Rodman credited the South Dakota Commission on Gaming for approving the progressive slots.

“What an exciting opportunity to play for a Million Dollar life-changing Progressive Jackpot!” stated Troy Ihde, Casino Marketing Director at the Lodge at Deadwood Gaming Resort. “The Lodge is the only casino in Deadwood to offer four gaming machines that are all linked to this multi-state progressive.”
