Rounders Poker Room manager Nick Hubenka says the Fall Classic is one of the premier poker events in the region. "Poker players come from literally all over the country to play in this tournament," Hubenka said. Approximately 300 players will compete in 2 flights of tournament play per day Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with the final championship round taking place Sunday the 13th at 1:00 pm.
While Rounders Poker Room is well known for their daily tournaments and live play, the Fall Classic is actually the 2nd of two major tournaments the Lodge at Deadwood hosts every year. "Our Fall Classic is similar to our Spring Classic in that players buy in for $300 and there are no re-buys. It's a survival of the fittest situation, and that generates a lot of excitement. Anyone who knows poker wants a piece of this action," Hubenka said.
