We are proud to announce that the 12th annual "Voices of Hope for children" benefit auction has raised over $16,000 for the Northern Hills Area CASA program.
The Rapid City Journal reports:
The community reaffirmed its concern for abused and neglected children by participating in the 12th annual “Voices of Hope for Children” benefit auction Aug. 17 at The Lodge at Deadwood.
More than 120 people attended the event, which raised over $16,000 for the Northern Hills Area CASA Program (NHCASA).
Featuring 21 live and 74 silent auction items donated by area businesses and individuals, the event was emceed by Helene Duhamel, and Dennis McKay was the auctioneer. For a complete list of sponsors and donors, go to www.nhcasa.org.
“This is always such a fun event,” said NHCASA's executive director Kate Kelley. “We had a variety of fantastic items to auction, thanks to our generous donors and sponsors. I think just about everyone left with something.”
All proceeds of the event benefit children involved in the courts due to abuse and neglect by providing them with trained, court-appointed advocates.
NHCASA’s mission is to promote and protect the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings through the advocacy of adult trained volunteers. The program currently serves children in the Fourth Judicial District, including Butte, Corson, Dewey, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Perkins and Ziebach counties.
NHCASA will be conducting volunteer training beginning Sept. 11. For more information, go to www.nhcasa.org or call 605-722-4558.
Thank you to everyone who came out in support of this event!
