NHCASA’s mission is to promote and protect the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings through the advocacy of adult trained volunteers. NHCASA currently serves children in Butte, Corson, Dewey, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Perkins and Ziebach counties.
“This event benefits all of our communities,” said Kate Kelley, NHCASA executive director. “Proceeds of the event help provide each abused and neglected child in the court system with an advocate of their very own. The hope is to provide safe and permanent families for children and to break the cycle of abuse that too often occurs. These children, in time, can become healthy, productive members of our community.”
In 2011, the NHCASA Program served 127 children in the 4th Judicial Circuit. This year to date, NHCASA has advocated on behalf of nearly 100 children in need of safe, permanent and nurturing homes.
