Mardi Gras is coming to Deadwood!
Be sure to join us this weekend for tons of beads, parades, costume contests, live music, and of course, parties that put the "wild" in "Wild West"!
The Lodge at Deadwood is kicking off Mardi Gras with a $3,000 Big Show Slot Tournament at 11:00 a.m., where each and every participant will receive free Specialty Beads!
Other events include the People's Parade on Main Street, a Cajun Cook-Off, Deadwood's famous Annual Mardi Gras Parade, and more! (Please visit the Chamber of Commerce website for details.)

LEAD, SD - If this winter's brown is getting you down, a trip to the Black Hills may be in order.
"The perception is that the Black Hills doesn't have any snow because where people are living in South Dakota, they're not seeing any snow outside their door, so why would the Black Hills have any? But we do have snow," Shannon Percy with the Game, Fish, and Parks Department said.
Enough snow that virtually all of the snowmobile trails in the Hills are open to riders.

NORTHERN HILLS — If you live in the Black Hills and have golfed in the past couple weeks, it's likely you find it hard to fathom there's snow in them 'thar Hills. But there is. And plenty of it in the higher elevations of the Northern Hills for winter recreation.

South Dakota's first annual Largest Tailgate Party on Deadwood's Main Street Feb. 5
It's the first annual Largest Tailgate Party in South Dakota with a 24-foot big screen! The weekend's festivities include a banquet on Saturday, Feb. 4, and many events taking place on Sunday, Feb. 5. Here's a schedule of events. All event proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Black Hills snowmobile trails will be opening Thursday, Dec. 15, for the 2011-2012 season. It’s been reported that the trail system now has a foot and a half of snow, and groomers will begin their limited schedule on Thursday night. With flurries expected Thursday and Friday, area snow enthusiasts are chanting, “let it snow.”

This past weekend, the Rounder's Poker room hosted the 2nd Annual Fall Classic Poker Tournament. The tournament was held October 21st through October 23rd, with 226 players testing their skills against the best poker players in the 5 state area. There was a $40,800 prize pool, with the winner taking home $13,266.
